There is a need to contemplate why just sit around and wait to go on down the road to Sariago.
Eli asked where you go when you die, "Fly straight up into the sky or go on down a road that we all follow?"
I was never one to miss out on havin' fun but that time has passed; the day is done. So move on through along the path that you choose. If the future worries you, you need to prove, you have to show-
How you know you're gonna live to see tomorrow.
To-and-fro along the road to Sariago.
Fate and destiny are yours to make
So don't waste time or hesitate; we know that is a road that leads to sorrow.
No lie, it's hard to navigate through life.
No fixed direction so you make your own without a map, a sign or arrow.
Now the setting sun stains the road. I'm almost done.
You are not the only one to move on through along the path that you choose.
Just show the world what you can do.
That's how you prove; now you've shown-
How you know you're gonna live to see tomorrow.

Woke up this evening
The morning's much too soon for me to rise
I wipe the sleep out of my eyes and it comes as no surprise I'm coloured blue.
So I pick up my guitar, I play the same twelve bars it's the only thing that I know how to do. Yah you know you'll always win when you can't lose- playin' a stereotypical blues.
I got a good woman
To bad that her man dun' got her too
But when they start to fight, which is each and every night, she yells, "We're through!"
Then she drives right outta sight on this New York City night. Prepares to climb the stairs up to my room. As she's walkin' in I'm whistlin' this tune. And you know you'll always win when you can't lose- playin' a stereotypical blues.
I ain't hypocritical, this is so typical. Not that original, babe, but you know that it's true.
I'm no stranger to loss I've discovered the cost of the life I am livin' so now I am payin' my dues.
Just got some money I reckon drugs and booze will come to rob
And as for my job? That's sleepin' like a log all afternoon.
But if you come out tonight I'm sure to get it right on the stage where I share with you my gloom.
Like the muddy waters of a blue lagoon
Or the howlin' wolf crying at the moon

So long ago I felt like Spring
Innocence bloomed, new everything
Vintage wind ageing, thinned flows through the air discerned of all time and love there is to share
Euthanized, Summer's life accepts it's end
Ambivalently passing on to be born again
Thankfully Autumn knows how it feels
Coming and going is part of the deal
And gracefully Autumn goes tranquil and warm
Welcoming in the cold November storm
Dying is born
And killed in the cycle that sparks life again.
Nature conspires with the sun to mellow the Earth we live upon
Sunset rests calmly in arms of the tree
Gold unrest inundates, infects the breeze that I breath
All is one, all begin, all retire
The seasons, sun, the moon and I will expire
Thankfully Autumn knows how it feels
